Three weeks in and I still look forward to the alarm going off, which is not a sentence I expected to write. The vapour catches the light before your eyes are properly open and it genuinely startles you awake. My old phone alarm never stood a chance.
I bought this expecting a gimmick and got something I'd happily keep on the shelf with the alarm switched off entirely. The paintwork on the robes holds up under close inspection, which is more than I can say for most licensed figures at this size.
Everything works exactly as advertised. The only thing I'd change is the reservoir — it wants topping up more often than I'd like if you use the mist daily. Easy enough to run the light on its own, and that alone still gets me out of bed.
Got it for my brother's birthday and had to sit through a video of him demonstrating it to everyone who visited that week. Ended up ordering the other two so he'd stop asking. Packaging is nice enough that I didn't bother wrapping it.
Solid build, and the tap-to-stop works from any angle even half asleep, which matters more than I thought it would. Sound is a touch quiet at the lower settings if you're a heavy sleeper, so I run it at four out of five.
My flatmate came into my room at seven in the morning purely to see what the noise was, and left having ordered one. It photographs far better in person than the listing suggests, especially with the room lights off.

Do I have to use the mist every morning?
No. The light, the mist and the sound are three separate switches, so you can run any combination you like. Plenty of people keep the glow on and leave the mist for weekends.
How loud does it get?
Five volume levels. At the top setting it's roughly as loud as a standard phone alarm; at the lowest it's a soft cue that won't wake anyone in the next room. There's also a silent mode where only the light and mist trigger.
How do I turn it off in the morning?
Tap the top of the base with your hand — anywhere on the flat surface works, so you don't need to aim. Light, mist and sound all cut at once. It's a touch panel, not a button, so there's nothing to press hard or wear out.
Can I use it as a normal clock without the effects?
Yes. Switch all three effects off and it behaves like any bedside clock, with the display running in 12- or 24-hour format. The brightness of the digits is adjustable too, including a dim setting for people who don't want a red glow at night.
What goes in the reservoir?
Distilled water only. Tap water leaves mineral deposits that clog the ultrasonic plate and shorten its life considerably. A bottle of distilled water costs very little and lasts months.
Don't add oils, fragrance or anything else — the unit isn't a diffuser and additives will damage it.
How often do I need to refill it?
The reservoir holds 15 ml, which covers roughly 30 activations. If you use the mist every morning that's about once a month. A filling pipette comes in the box.
Will the mist damage my furniture?
No. It's a cool ultrasonic vapour, not steam, and the burst is short enough that it disperses into the air rather than settling. It leaves no residue on wood or fabric.
Does it need to stay plugged in?
For the light, mist and sound, yes — those draw more power than a battery can supply. It runs off USB-C with a 1.5 m cable included.
Two AAA batteries act as backup so the clock keeps time through a power cut, though the effects won't fire until mains power returns.
How do I clean it?
Dust the figure with a soft dry brush. Avoid solvents and alcohol wipes on the painted surfaces. If the mist output weakens, empty the reservoir and wipe the plate with a cotton bud — that's almost always mineral buildup from non-distilled water.
What's the difference between the three figures?
The sculpt, the pose and the glow colour. Harry casts in crimson, Voldemort in green, Dumbledore in amber. The clock, the base and every feature are identical across all three, so it comes down to which one you'd rather look at.
